Inside each Safe-T-Stik is an earth-activated alkali aluminate-silicate, that can continuously give off light for over 12 hours (after charging) in darkness by the absorption of visible light. This new age pigment will charge under any light form, then glow in darkness all year round (when charged) and can last for up to 10 years. No batteries required !

What Is Photoluminescence???
Photoluminescent pigment is a earth activated alkali aluminate-silicate. The main characteristic of this material is the particular structure of crystals having a great capacity of absorbing, storing and emitting light.
Luminescence occurs if a material exposed to a source of excitation absorbs energy, and then emits that energy as a visible light. The energy can be derived from sunlight or even any artificial light such as light globes. The stronger the light source, the quicker it will charge.
These pigments are not like glow sticks that only last for one use. Glow sticks use pigments that have had modifications to the crystals which makes them lose effectiveness over time. Photoluminescent pigment has not been modified.
